Title: Technical Project Manager - Scalar Tape Automation Robotic Systems
Duratin: 6 months
Location: Englewood, CO
Work in the RD -Enterprise Automation FirmWare department as a project manager who would have interest in moving into a manager role in the future.
We also would be open to a junior level project manager with 2-3 years of experience.
This project manager will be not be doing any development or coding but being familiar with C, C++, Perl, Python and Java would be helpful.
As the Software Engineering Project Manager you will work with a highly experienced team of engineers coordinating hardware and software releases and developing advanced features for Scalar Tape Automation Robotic Systems.
Preparing these systems for a Cloud based environment and enabling remote management via the latest Application-based technologies is also a part of the scope of this initiative.
Provide leadership to the high performing development team creating software and firmware for Scalar Tape Automation products.
Work closely with product management in defining new advanced feature sets that set us apart from the competition.
Help evolve the product lineup to address newest cloud based storage architectures and app based system management approaches.
Work closely with program management on execution and delivery of software and firmware releases for the Scalar product line.
Work closely with engineering management to deliver feature releases for our Scalar Tape Automation Robotic Systems.
Collaborate with the service and quality organizations to improve customer experience and overall product quality.
Integrate with and continue to leverage a long-time Eastern European development partner in our design and development processes.
Advance the team culture to help providing a fun but productive work environment.
Support the broader engineering organization with project coordination and tracking.
Exposure to a wide variety of hardware, software, firmware, and system related topics.
Flexibility required, broad learning opportunities offered. Experience/Education Requirements:
7-10 years of experience managing a midsize development team, able to inspire and motivate engineering teams.
3-5 years of project management experience in a high performance environment with the desire to eventually manage people
Skills: - Leverage continuous improvement processes to advance the organization.
Work across the aisle with other leaders from other cross functional departments as well as collaborate and foster teamwork across multiple disciplines within the engineering team.
Ability to influence the outcome of project deliverables.
Proven track record in delivering software and firmware projects at a high quality level and a high speed pace.
Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
Experience with source control management tools and bug tracking tools (Subversion and Bugzilla), able to advance code development and build processes.
Flexibility and willingness to expand your own horizon and learn quickly on the job.
Willingness to tackle any engineering projects with guidance by engineering leadership.
Diligent work approach, pride in workmanship, and accountability required.
Agile, Waterfall, SDLC Methodologies
BS and/or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
