We are now accepting resumes for Sr Analyst, IT DevOpsAutomation in the DFW area.
The IT DevOps Sr. Analyst - Automation serves is a key technology expert with strategic responsibility for the technical and operational results of enabling IT Automation, monitoring, reporting, ticketing and other technologies utilized to ensure the organization meets its business goals around understanding operational performance, system reliability tracking/alerting, and the continuous development of supporting web portals and service catalog.
This person will architect processes to also include configuration (infrastructure and application), change, incident and problem management for their respective areas and be responsible for reduction in severity and critical issue management, resolving open issues, root cause analysis, capacity and performance management direction, operational monitoring, and drive a common support expectation within the various tracks listed.
This position will be responsible for managing operational and reporting metrics that will support increased stability and maximum availability within their areas of responsibility.
-As directed, define policies and requirements for the architecture and support responsibilities of the IT DevOps Team.
-Enforce standard adherence of the IT DevOps Team’s supported applications and services.
-Develop and maintain a deep understanding of value drivers for business units in order to inspire and achieve innovative value creation strategies.
-Execute special projects as assigned and required.
-Assist in development & implementation of multi?year Strategy and Continuous Improvement efforts based on the identification of value opportunities within the DevOps and reporting area of responsibility.
-Ensure that that any Service Level Agreements and Disaster Recovery plans for the enabling technologies are adequate and relevant.
-Participate as technical subject matter expert & own IT projects as required to ensure technical engineering deliverables.
-Support the development of metrics to track the performance.
-Define and leverage KPIs to measure performance and identify improvement opportunities.
-Be accountable for streamlining and improving processes to simplify support and increase speed of service delivery.
-Develop and coordinate the documentation for approaches, methodologies, policies, standards configurations, deployment processes and testing plans as needed.
-Assist in reviews that support the roadmaps and provide approval for team direction.
-Be available 24/7 during an on-call rotation schedule for troubleshooting and repair of application and platform issues managed the team.
-Develop, present and sign-off technology vision, solution strategy, design, estimates, cost benefit analysis and implementation plan.
-Ensure the solution architecture supports stated objectives, meets user expectations, including functional, non-functional aspects, with a balance between practical design and early, sustainable value.
-Manage expectations, commitments and deliver progressive milestones by preparing, prioritizing, communicating and reviewing the team outcomes on a daily basis.
-Be the change agent, provide direction, and ensure seamless coordination between team members and stakeholders.
-Provide hands-on technical and best practice direction to project teams and oversee the work of team members to ensure they meet/or exceed performance expectations from the program
-Constantly engage and collaborate with client teams at various levels for ascertaining value, reinforcement and actionable feedback.
-Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, receptive to constant change, that requires the individual to simultaneously manage several tasks, while paying attention to detail and quality.
-Performs periodic and timely reporting of project status.
-Clearly communicate status with management describing progress of efforts towards successfully completing individual efforts supporting the team.
-Interface with requestors for requirements on application integrations, testing and certifications of applications.
-Communicate with or interview users to plan, develop, improve and maintain moderately complex components of the logical/ physical corporate model.
-Work with users and SME’s to determine best approach to satisfy user requirements, gaps and risks.
-Day-to-Day engagement with outsourcers, service providers and other third parties to facilitate mutual success.
-Possess the relationship skills, cultural awareness, and organizational prowess required to work effectively in a large, highly matrixes organization, delivering results through a position of influence, not necessarily authority.
-Maintain industry relationships and look to all sources available to develop the best technology strategies.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements:
-At least 5+ years of experience with a healthy mix of the below skills.
-Ability to work with distributed teams made of architects, developers and systems admins spread between US and India and other off shore locations.
Past exposure/certification in ITIL
Must have skills:
-Experience automating provisioning of infrastructure platforms using configuration automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Saltstack, etc.
-Experience in Windows and/or Linux shell scripting.
-Experience with data formats such as JSON, XML, YAML, etc.
-Experience with API based integration via REST and/or SOAP.
-Experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, jQuery.
-Experience integrating Release Orchestration (RO) with any request/change/incident management tools such as Service Now and Remedy.
-Experience integrating RO with any software configuration management (SCM) tools such as, Rational team concert, Subversion, GIT/Stash.
-Experience working with Linux/Windows server administration.
-Experience working with any database (MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
-Exposure to any middleware (application servers, messaging, queuing, notification).
-Experience working with build tools such as artifacts, manifests, templates, reusable libraries and repositories.
-Ability to understand project requirements and provide a plan with dependable estimates.
Nice to have skills:
-Good understanding of using application lifecycle management tools (to manage requirements, design, configuration, functional test, and performance test) and service management tools (to manage change, request, and incident).
-Thorough understanding of enterprise agile release and change management practices.
-Excellent understanding of the enterprise agile software delivery lifecycle.
-Experience implementing one of the following release orchestration (RO) tools (ie, BMC Release Lifecycle Management (preferred),
-IBM uRelease /uDeploy, CA Release Automation, etc.
-Experience orchestrating application deployments using any tools/frameworks such as Capistrano, Run deck, Fabric, etc.
