RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our client is seeking a Senior Front End Engineer to join their team in New York, NY. Since launching in January 2011, this firm has experienced exciting growth because of their loyal, global customer base. Our client recently closed their $10M Series B funding and is committed to building a data-driven eCommerce business.
Our user facing technology stack consists of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. We use tools like SASS, Gulp and Grunt to help us iterate and ship faster.
Our client strongly believes in open source, coding standards, best practices and peer code reviews.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Have relevant work experience. We look at personal accomplishments, not years
* Understand the challenges of web compatibility, performance, usability, and maintainability
* Worked on hybrid web sites that are both mobile and desktop friendly
* Can write clean, reusable and extendable JavaScript without libraries
* Know the difference between responsive and adaptive layouts
* Enjoy writing clean and maintainable SASS
* Can quickly build proof of concepts and functional prototypes
* Like an environment where you take ownership of and responsibility for your work
* Are open to learning new languages, concepts and tools
* Have a technical understanding of Agile development environment and practices
* Know your way around with git and standard engineering workflows. Live and die by pull requests
* Are genuinely curious about technology
Bonus points:
* Previous experience with start-ups / eCommerce
* Worked with Magento and have clear understanding of cons and pros of monolithic platforms
* Familiar with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap and Zurb
* Familiar with AngularJS or other JavaScript based MVW frameworks
* Have hands on experience with build tools, such as Gulp or Grunt
* You can point to products on the web that you built
* Contributed to / started open source projects
* Exposure to continuous integration (CI)
