This position is for a manager over the Software Development and Test Section for the Engineering and System Integration business unit of the Integrated Logistics and Modernization Division of the Technical Services Sector. The successful candidate will possess strong diverse skills in software development and test to better lead and perform alongside as well as with mentoring the team. Promote engagement and meet the high level performance demands of this section. Requires strong leadership and organizational skills to prioritize and ensure program needs are met in a timely manner. Must be able to manage in a matrix type environment where resources are deployed to various programs as needed. It is important to obtain and develop new talent to support emerging needs, grow the skills of currently employees, develop backup resources, and increase overall coding efficiency in this very demanding environment. The successful candidate will provide oversight of day to day software development and test operations and be responsible for managing budgets, schedules, resources, and software/hardware purchases to meet the mission. Candidate will also need to implement company policies/procedures and support section growth by pursuing new business opportunities and delivering value. Strong communication skills and the ability to build a cohesive team are a must.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related technical field US Citizen with ability to obtain US Secret Clearance The prospective candidate must have the following experience: 8 Years industry experience with Bachelors of Science degree or 12 years in lieu of degree. Proficient with web and desktop applications design, architecture, development and test. Ability to adapt and grow into sustaining existing systems and applying new technologies as the industry evolves. Familiar with Software Systems Engineering, in particular software development processes, requirements engineering, configuration management, and software quality management. Significant development experience with the following or similar technologies:- .NET architecture (MVC, WebAPI, WPF)- Database design and architecting in SQL Server and Oracle- Entity framework and TSQL- ASP.NET and C#- JavaScript, JQuery, and Angular.JS- ColdFusion. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build a cohesive team Experience providing oversight of day to day software development and test operations and ensuring high level support is maintained. Understanding of process/procedure development, control, and improvement Strong communication skills including technical writing and verbal communication
