RESPONSIBILITIES:
We have a great fulltime opportunity for a Mid-Sr. Linux Admin/Engineer out of Carlsbad, CA. You will be a key part of the IT Operations team, taking on management of the business Linux servers and clusters. We are seeking for a candidate with strong Linux Systems Administration skills with a desire to improve and cultivate the systems and process.
The responsibilities and job functions are:
* Deploy and manage hundreds of Linux servers across multiple clusters
* Manage the deployment of our custom web scale search engine platform
* Diagnose complex production issues and provide rapid remediation within a collaborative environment
* Compose and maintain internal documentation for IT Operations team
* Assist with corporate IT issues as needed
* Flexibility to be on-call and occasionally work after hours

REQUIREMENTS:
* Expert knowledge of CentOS Linux systems administration, management and performance tuning
* Production level experience with one or more of these open source technologies: Hadoop, Memcached, and Cassandra
* Proficient in at least one scripting language (Bash, Perl, Python, etc)
* Experience with system automation tools; Foreman and\or Puppet a strong plus
* Experience with Cisco networking (Firewalls, VLan, Routers/Switches) is a plus
* Experience with system services and concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Kickstart, LDAP, RAID, distributed architectures, backup & recovery and capacity planning
* Virtualization experience with VMware (AWS and OpenStack a plus)
* Familiarity with database administration and configuration (MySQL and\or PostgreSQL)
* Experience working in a C/C++/Java/Linux development environment
Experience:
* Minimum 3+ years, ideally 5-10 years of Linux Systems Administration experience
* 3+ years in a Production Web Environment
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field), or equivalent experience
