Our Fortune 500 client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer - Position - Austin, TX

Experience in networking protocol standards: IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP, 1/10Gb Ethernet

Preferred: Scripting or automation experience • SCSI, FC, FCoE, DCBX experience

Will be working on project that covers server, storage and network switches. The network switch will be a L2/L3 switch. or IT department (Level 3, Broadwing). Candidates MUST have had switch configuration experience, not just connecting clients to the switches.

Job Description:
Responsible for network architecture/topology development, validation and content creation based on the architecture for Dell Networking products. Must be skilled in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment in order to execute topology/scenario validation in a development/test lab environment. Validating that all settings are optimal and correct is required to meet aggressive project objectives. Should have an extensive working knowledge of Ethernet protocols, the ability to understand Ethernet/FC/FCoE packet captures and the ability to install and use Ethernet traffic generators and analyzers. Troubleshooting and validation experience. Test experience with modular switches for blade products is a plus.

Qualifications:
• Experience in networking protocol standards: IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP, 1/10Gb Ethernet
• Networking engineer experience
• NMS experience (Network Management System)
• Experience with Ethernet network L2/L3, including routing, switching, configuration
• Understanding of one or more network protocol and tracing tools: Finisar , Wireshark, Ethereal, TCPdump or JDSU
• Proficient with industry standard I/O load simulation tools: iPERF, IOMeter, IXIA
• Understanding of Server/Switch/Storage hardware and OS (Windows, VMware)
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in storage and networking HW
• Bachelors/Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering preferred
