Job Description:
Software Engineer
The position
Within the engineering team, the Software Engineer will be participating in various software development projects, working on design specifications and project schedules, playing an important role in the software development process, and taking responsibility for the completion of the projects which includes monitoring the project through testing and release.
Impact of the position
• Understanding and analyzing our e-commerce business requirements and turning them into engineering designs
• Developing software to implement our wide-range of business functionalities on the web, used by IronPlanet internal people as well as end users
• Working with third party systems from our industry partners or customers, to integrate them with our web system and facilitate real-time data exchanges
• Helping define testing specifications and facilitating the project testing and performance tuning
Who you are
• 3-5 years post-academic industry experience on software development
• Good knowledge of J2EE technology, Java application server, EJB, Hibernate, JSTL
• Familiar with web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, as well as XML
• Working experience on Oracle database systems, with schema design, data model normalization and query optimization- hands-on experience maintaining personal development database system
• Demonstrated to be a quick learner, willing to meet the challenge and take on new technology, and deploy it onto our software system whenever it is necessary
• Exceptional communication skills- verbally articulate with quick and precise comprehension of ever changing e-commerce business processes
• BS in CS or equivalent
• Current San Francisco Bay Area resident that does not require visa sponsorship
