Amitech Solutions is currently looking for a Data Quality Analyst in a data warehouse environment to manage and develop Data Quality (DQ) Programs in St. Louis.
The Data Quality Analyst is responsible for helping to ensure that data in the data warehouse is fit for purpose and meets the data quality and accuracy requirements of the Organization. The Data Quality Analyst is an expert in understanding the need for data quality and accuracy and how to apply Data Quality tools and techniques to monitor and support high quality of data in the data warehouse and analytics environment. Data Quality Analyst
Responsibilities:
Conduct data profile and collects metrics in support of continual data improvement
Review data staged and loaded into the data warehouse for reporting data quality metrics
Perform problem investigations, identifies data related issues, and recommends applicable solutions
Recommend maintenance enhancements to data acquisition processes to improve the quality of data warehouse assets
Make recommendations to operational and external systems support staff for enhancing to systems-of- record to improve operational data quality
Review referential integrity and entity resolution of data loaded into the data warehouse and other BI data stores
Contribute to database design, security, data storage, and data management initiatives
Develop and promote standardization in support of improvement of data quality
Help drive organizational agreement on definitions, business rules and permissible domain values for enterprise-shared data
Identify master data sources and unique identifiers for master data
Assure accuracy of master data elements and timeliness of updates
Record data quality issues identified during the analysis phase to the appropriate data owners for corrective action.
Perform Data Profiling of Data Quality (DQ) targeted source data, and reporting of results.
Assist with data discovery and perform data quality profiling.
Use advanced SQL skills to develop SQL queries to better understand what data exists in a file or table, what contents look like in each field, etc.
Perform Data Quality (DQ) Cleansing based on DQ profiling results.
Assist with testing - may provide help to create data scenarios in input files and more likely will assist with reviewing and analyzing test results. May assist the ETL team during unit testing, may help the BA's and QA tester during their internal (system) testing, and may even provide help during User Acceptance Testing.
Perform Metadata documentation for the business information requirements.
Required Skills:
Advanced SQL programming skills
Advanced Excel experience, but also proficiency with applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio
Expertise with detail-oriented work
Data Cleansing experience
Data Profiling experience
Previous experience with Data Quality tracking processes/systems and tools, such as SPSS Modeler, DataFlux, Infosphere Quality Stage, Informatica Data Quality, etc.
Detailed knowledge of concepts and principles specific to data quality, master data, reference data, entity resolution, and data warehouse architectures/environments
Hands-on knowledge of relational and dimensional data models
Ability to investigate and integrate information from varying sources and highlight inconsistencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - will work with multiple analysts and potentially business users to ask questions
Effective problem solving and analytical skills
Experience with and demonstrated understanding of SDLC
Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in MIS, Business Intelligence, Data Quality, Mathematics, or Computer Science)
Preferred Skills/Knowledge:
Health Insurance data, terminologies, and processes
Statistical analysis tool experience
BI tools and key data warehouse principles
MS Access experience
DB2 knowledge
Informatica knowledge
SQL Svr knowledge
