Junior Desktop Engineering Administrator- Seattle, WA

We are currently seeking an Junior Desktop Engineering Administrator to join our team in Seattle, WA.
This role will provide Information Technology solutions to support the projects and clients' environments. Utilizes configuration management suites to define, manage, build, release and deploy hardware, software and patches to endpoints throughout enterprise environments following standard configuration management processes and procedures.
Role Responsibilities
- Utilizes configuration management principles and best practices to effectively support development/support or testing requirements for configuration management systems
- Responsible for coordinating and implementing Configuration management for the project and/or organization as well as maintaining the resulting product throughout its lifecycle
- Builds desktop/laptop images, which includes automated software installs, hardware selection, configuration, and integration testing
- Develops, analyzes, and maintains tools that support and automate processes for software releases.
- Assembles and packages software from source code
- Works with project teams to determine an appropriate build schedule and initiates the build and packaging process
- Writes installation scripts and programs
- Performs upgrades, maintenance, Patching, Software distributions and configuration of servers as well as managing SQL boxes and related database functions
- Participates in development of innovative solutions to improve environment and reduce overall support
- Works with more senior team members in developing build plans and/or implementing build plans
- Displays a working knowledge of application packaging utilizing current technologies; Wise, Microsoft Installer, Installshield)
- Working knowledge of current configuration management software (ex. BMC CM/Marimba, SMS, Altiris, System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM), Concurrent Versions System (CVS), Visual Source Safe (VSS), ClearCase, SubVersion (SVN))
- Follows established parameters for configuration, testing, and debugging
- Provides build and release management for project/
- product components
- Ability to manage environment/ system configuration changes
- Manages access control to various project configuration directories
- Interfaces with customer and account based teams on projects
- Performs complex troubleshooting activitie
- Provides 3rd-level technical support in resolving
- internal and customer technical issues
- Performs basic SQL server administration related to support of configuration management tool
Requirements
Basic scripting skills (such as VBS / Batch file)
-Familiar with Windows O/S and File/Folder security
-Some Software Re-packaging experience/understanding (desired, but not required)
-Ability to work on a rotational on-call basis
- 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
