Job Description:

Department Profile:

The Research & Investment Systems Group provides development and support to various Investment Divisions in all areas of the investment process, including research, portfolio construction and optimization, pre and post trade analytics, trading, middle and back office. This role would be to work with the Portfolio Implementation Development team, a part of the Research & Investment Systems Group that works directly with the Portfolio Implementation user group. Portfolio Implementation is responsible for monitoring portfolio exposure, trade construction, daily trade generation, and more.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Software Developer to create innovative solutions for our investment divisions. You will be working with portfolio implementation team implementing a wide variety of solutions for trade construction, scheduling and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with business users to identify areas where technology could be leveraged to enhance the investment process and achieve superior results
Propose and design technical solutions
Design and develop unit tests
Participate in team code reviews and scrums
Implement applications based on the solutions proposed and work closely with users to test and integrate the applications into the current production environment
Support the applications developed

Skills:

College degree required
Familiarity with buy side trading technologies is a plus
Demonstrated success developing middle-tier applications in Java and .NET
Demonstrated success developing web based application in Java and .NET
Experience with database development for Microsoft SQL Server
Familiarity with modern software development practices (dependency injection, ORMs, REST, etc.) is a plus
Knowledge of the Agile development process is a plus
Solid and demonstrable understanding of robust software engineering principles including application security, performance, fault tolerance, and maintainability.
Self-starter, able to work as part of a small team as well as independently, with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
Effective presentation skills is a strong plus
Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize work and effectively manage multiple tasks
