RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Vertica Support Engineer to join their team in New York, NY.
Overview:
The data and analytics organization in this firm is responsible for managing and analyzing massive amounts of data as well as supporting the whole organization in delivering value from data. The client's platform group focuses on designing, developing and operating the global technology stack with four key layers of data marketplace, data management, analytics workbench and application marketplace. All these layers operate on both aggregate and event-level data and are hosted on variety of infrastructure options including but not limited to local servers, public and private clouds. Responsibilities:
* As part of the support team, coordinate and manage all support related tasks for the global Digital Analytics Platform (DiAP)
* Work closely with the product team, engineering, agency users and the services team to establish new support protocols and onboard new users to the platform
* Participate in data vault POC and prototype processes
* Develop, implement and maintain support best practices
* Effectively lead both onshore and offshore support personnel
* Obtain an understanding of key business needs and work directly with end users to create effective solutions
REQUIREMENTS:
While candidates from all backgrounds are considered, the preferred candidate will have:
* Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University
* Proven record (5 + years) as an application support engineer
* Experience with performing technical analysis, configuration changes and software deployment
* Implementing application support methodology and best practices (such as ITIL)
* Deep knowledge of HP Vertica, SQL and Linux
* Knowledge of Amazon AWS EMR and S3, Hadoop, HBase, Java and Hive is a big plus
* Exercise excellent communication skills for communicating solutions
