Job Description:
The Manager of Applications Development would manage a team focused on writing code and developing applications leveraging multiple tools, languages, processes, and technologies. Positions in this team are predominantly involved in developing business applications that support Network Data Analytics and Reporting (NDAR) mission to transform relevant data into reliable business solutions for Network Management and Network Strategy. Primary contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value.
Primary Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for the design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, delivery and support of the NDAR Applications Team
In addition, you will manage the efficient and effective applications and tools consistent with established specifications and business requirements
Key contributor in requirements definition of most complex business initiatives
Works at highest technical advisory level on the most difficult analysis and design assignments
Functions as the lead of the Applications Team of 6 to 10 employees
Perform related follow-up and work coordination activities, including reporting and metrics
Perform advisory role on complex projects
Plan, organize and lead large scale technological projects to successful conclusion
Will be considered the Senior Technical subject matter expert
Managerial Skills:
Manage those responsible for designing/developing, maintaining technical applications
Predicts emerging customer needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them
Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
Participates in the development of business strategy
Leads large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives
Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas and/or approaches that may have segment-wide impact
Perform general management functions including participating in technical assessments, performance reviews, mentoring, hiring, and training
Directs cross-functional and/or cross-segment teams
Be aware of and understands the dependencies and alignment areas that are required between the business needs and other key areas such as data processing, technical design and development, report production, training, and documentation
Coordinate provider communication and network development outreach activities
Demonstrates an understanding of data modeling (relationships, data types, tables, etc.) and analytics concepts (queries, reporting, association of data sources)
This position communicates with the Business Analyst to understand each of the business's new initiatives, strategies, network issues and reporting requirements and then determine which solutions should be developed consistently across all business segments
Communication Skills:
Adept at verbal presentation at the senior leadership level
Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
Creates deliverable templates and prepares written materials
Expresses independent view constructively, even when others disagree
Communicates effectively with clients and team members
Creates work products using standard software packages (Visio, Word, Access, Excel)
Required Qualifications:
3 or more years of experience in collecting, analyzing, and presenting large data sets and recommendations to management
3 or more years directly related experience in analyzing business and recommending solutions
2 or more years Management Experience
Thorough knowledge of PC based software programs and automated database management systems
