In this role, you will have the opportunity to use the latest networking, server and storage technologies to develop infrastructure which supports multiple Dell product lines. You will work on projects that bridge the gaps between segmented IT infrastructures, creating a true integrated enterprise solution. Your projects will have exposure to high-level executives internally and will be used by a broad customer base externally. You will also be able to see the fruits of your labor in action, as the products you developed will be utilized by customers in the field--while also being promoted online through Dell's expansive marketing efforts

The Test Principal Engineer will be responsible for developing test plans, procedures as well as developing custom test scripts, test network configurations and test lab intricate setups. Test Scripts will interface with REST based Web Services and SQL databases. Strong coding, lab networking, and lab management experience is important. Collaboration with application developers, project managers, support teams and end users will be a key part of this role. The tester will design, implement and run manual and automated test procedures integrating with external and internal teams.

Primary Functions/Job Description

* Create roadmaps andtest automation design.

* Build and maintain test scripts, platforms with C#, Perl

* Lead/mentor testers and share knowledge through peer led presentations

* Assist the team with tasks like, but not limited to best practices, troubleshooting, task decomposition, estimation, testing, and documentation.

* Design, code and test new test scripts and test platforms

* Investigate and develop skills in new technologies

* Consult closely with management and other departments related to projects and tasks

* Ability to manage all phases of a project

* Prepare all appropriate user and technical documentation for assigned projects

* Preferred knowledge of C#, .NET framework, TFS and Visual Studio Tools

* Knowledge of object-oriented programming and/or design

* Familiar with relational database design

* Experience in web services, preferably WCF and n-tiered distributed systems

* Skill in a source control system

QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE:

* 15+ years of continuous proven experience with test automation scripting using C#, Microsoft .NET Framework (3.5 and 4.5 is preferred), Perl or equivalent scripting language

* 2+ years of Web Services experience using a RESTful frameworks for test automation scripting

* 5+ years of experience with MS SQL Server 2012 Structure Query Language (T-SQL) Stored Procedures for test automation scripting

Preferred:

* 5+ years of IP/Ethernet Networking experience including troubleshooting network setups

* 5+ years of lab management

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and in conjunction with team members and product groups. Enthusiasm and flexibility to work on a variety of projects are necessary, as well as the ability to rapidly acquire new domain familiarity.

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

* Ability to work in a fast paced environment, recognize and react to changing business needs and effectively prioritize tasks

* Ability to meet deadlines, identify issues and resolve with minimal direction

* 5 - 10 years of actual experience in the workplace

* Bachelor's degree in MIS or Computer Science

* Experience with Visual Studio 2012/2013 .NET development environment

* Experience with .NET Entity Framework or similar Object Relational Model

* Strongly prefer Experience with C#, Perl, FreeBSD, and Windows Server

* Knowledge of object-oriented programming and/or design
