Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Financial Systems Solutions the Senior Manager will lead a team of business systems analysts responsible for supporting, enhancing and delivering projects to maximize the value of the budget and planning applications at client. These applications provide an enterprise platform for many key processes including operational budgeting and forecasting, interim reporting, long range planning, tuition/enrollment/financial aid planning, capital planning and capital project approvals. Multiple technologies exist within the portfolio including Oracle Hyperion Planning and Essbase, EcoSys EPC, and a custom application within Oracle E-Business Suite.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees all projects and operational improvements/enhancements in the Financial Strategy and Planning systems space

• Leads governance processes with stakeholders and the development of budget and planning technology roadmaps to effectively prioritize, schedule, and resource projects, system enhancements, and support services

• Develops and presents business cases for capital funding of IT projects that are prioritized by stakeholders

• Engages with the Business Solutions Architect to implement the optimal architecture and design for new applications, integrating multiple applications within the budget and planning portfolio, and integrating applications with the Business Intelligence platform

• Partners with ScrumMaster to ensure Agile practices are in place to maximize team collaboration and delivery of value to stakeholders; sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, daily standups and task board utilization

• Continuously improves effectiveness of requirements definition, application configuration/development, testing, change management, communications and training activities and processes

• Implements and refines team-wide business processes for troubleshooting Tier II support issues and conducting root cause analysis

• Manages direct reports including performance evaluations, promotions, hiring, and training and professional development

• Actively engages in client-wide process improvement and culture-building activities

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in related field (e.g. management information science, computer science or finance) or equivalent experience

• At least 5 years of experience managing technology teams, either direct reports or within a matrix reporting environment

• 3-5 years experience supporting or implementing solutions in Hyperion Planning and/or Essbase (or a similar budget and planning platform)

Additional Qualifications

• Must be knowledgeable of finance and accounting practices

• Proven ability to quickly assimilate new technology and/or applications required

• Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility and the ability to get up to speed quickly in the client environment and with the enterprise applications we support

• Must possess excellent interpersonal, organization, analytical, and written and oral communication skills

• Must have proven ability to initiate and manage multiple tasks under competing deadlines and shifting priorities

• Able to work independently and within small and large teams

• Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies preferred

• Familiarity with relational databases, data-warehousing concepts, and enterprise business intelligence platforms such as OBIEE, strongly preferred

• Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent proven work experience is desirable

• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft HCM) is also desirable
