Description:
The GTI Project Management Group provide clients with qualified project managers that will lead GTI projects and project management services using Standard Project Management execution practices, tools and templates.

As an Infrastructure Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Managing complex Investment Projects which include end-user and distributed technologies.
This is a senior role involved in the different stages of the success of a project including: the funding, planning, scheduling, implementation and tracking process.

This Project Management role is focused primarily on managing large projects based on multiple technologies for desktop virtualization. The project manager will also be required to manage complex projects based on evolving technologies.

The project manager will coordinate and monitor the scheduling, financials, and technical performance of the projects. Ensure adherence to master plans and schedules, develop solutions to project problems. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsible for developing and running complex projects.
Ensure projects delivered on time, on budget, to scope.
Develop / Create / Manage / Track:

1. Project scope
2. Project Plans
3. Financials
4. Risk & Issue plans
5. Resource plan
6. Changes
7. Procurement

Keep all projects on track - escalate decisions to program manager as necessary.
Matrix-manage the project delivery team (as required)
Compliance with company standards and procedures
Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Communications conduit to stakeholders and program manager; conducts periodic briefings/status updates.
Serve as single point of contact for project level issues / questions
Ability to anticipate problems and analyze ways to mitigate the risk
Prepare complex technical reports, plans and presentations

Work Experience:

Substantial IT Project Management experience, or relevant business or team leadership.
Experience with projects in multiple technologies, business functions, and industries.
Working knowledge of Technology Infrastructure systems and solutions including SAN, NAS, Backups, Networks, Windows, Unix, Linux, AIX, and Virtualization.
Experience of managing geographically distributed and culturally diverse work-groups.
Practical large-scale implementation experience, that implemented (and supported) mission critical infrastructure and/or applications.
Proven experience keeping projects on time and within budget.
Ability to present metrics to key stakeholders.
Experience in working with 3rd party suppliers
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing across functions and teams, up and down the chain of command.
Gather customer/user inputs, simplifying complex topics for non-technical audiences and preparing quick pointed summaries for executives and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in technology related area preferred OR
PMP or equivalent program/project management qualification
10+ years of related technology experience, a significant amount of which has been at the senior staff level, working with multiple technologies and complex, large scale, cross-functional project management, preferably in the financial services industry.
Strong technical capability
Background in Financial Services
Experience in projects that leverage service based architecture:
Extensive experience in the virtualization space.
