Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a Senior Java / J2EE Technology Consultant in Parsippany, New Jersey (NJ). The Senior Technical Consultant works with colleagues and clients to design, configure, implement and deploy Financial / Commercial Lending ERP software solutions.

Duties:
* Identify specific business requirements, configure software to meet those requirements and work with the client to ensure a successful product implementation
* May be a single engineering consultant or a lead developer on a project team implementing entire sub-systems
* Work as part of a team providing support to customer business units and the technology community
* Participate in user requirements and specification meetings and perform and participate in design and code reviews
* Produce functional specification documentation based upon client business requirements and work closely with various departments to coordinate efforts to meet deadlines
* Access and analyze the requirements needed to implement changes and advise on the options available to support the request within the system constraints while assessing potential risks and impacts
* Provide technical leadership to the Professional Services Configuration Teams
* Assist with root cause analysis of technical problems in the development, QA, or production environments
* Work with client and company project teams including: product / project managers, technical and business analyst and platform consultants (communication and facilitation experience is necessary)

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's of Arts or Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or comparable technical discipline and business knowledge experience)
* 5 + years of experience in a Technical Analyst role or the equivalent
* Understanding of the financial services industry is desired, especially within the credit lifecycle (acquisition, origination, account management, portfolio management, collections and / or recovery)
* Experience with Business Rules Engines such as PEGA, Cordiant, ILOG, and Blaze and / or Corticon is highly desired
* Experience with the following tools and technologies: Windows 2003/2008/2012, UNIX, Linux, Java, XML, HTML, JSP, JavaScript, and SQL
* Experience supporting web applications using Apache, Tomcat, and MySQL
* Enthusiasm for continuous improvement
* Solid analytical and problem solving skills
* Leadership skills
* Ability to plan and prioritize and follow through on their work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent verbal and written communication in addition to building and maintaining strong relationships, reconciling competing ideas on problems to a mutually beneficial conclusion are critical in this role
* Familiarity with data sources from multiple database platforms such as Oracle, DB2, and MS SQL Server
* Knowledge of open source software development, integration and release methodologies
* Ability to contribute and adhere to process and work with all levels of employees and consultants
* Background in financial services is a plus
