Functional overview:

eBay Classifieds is the leading provider of classifieds applications in the world. This position is responsible the iOS development team in a global mobile development team that currently releases 11 applications for 9 different countries. As well as the iOS development team, the candidate will work with Android, Product, Design and QA teams, as well as the local country teams to enable great local buying and selling experiences.

Responsibilities

Responsible for iOS developers both in hiring, people development and provide glue for the team as a whole
Ensure iOS releases are executed in timely, high quality, and consistent manner
Provide future directions of for the iOS platform
Work with Android, Product, Design and QA* to help form a development team capable of handling any future challenges

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate is one who wishes to have a large amount of autonomy in running a development team that is capable of delivering vibrant products in local commerce. The candidate should be able to form a vision, and execute the delivery of the mobile apps. Some attributes that we feel are especially important.
Good people observer, and uses this to glue a development team together
Very smart and insightful: commands attention from others and is able to shift paradigms
Understands what it takes to make first class software, and is driven to do so
Excellent project management and organizational skills: makes complex projects simple
Communication: Strong person to person, group, and remote communication
Delights in engineering and has a strong technical background

Job Requirements

Bachelors degree and/or related experience
10 years in as a member of a development team
4 years of technical leadership experience, and at least 2 years of people management
