Role Overview

Dell SecureWorks is looking for a top notch lead software developer to join our team to help us create the next generation of cloud security components. The engineer will work with system administrators, security analysts, product management and clients to ensure we produce high quality products that exceed expectations. This is a challenging and also very rewarding position involving interesting projects in network security.

Role Responsibilities

-Ability to coordinate software development with various team members and be responsible for the end-to-end development of software

-Responsible for designing, developing, and testing software in a multi-platform environment using cutting-edge technology

-Work with software and systems architects to evaluate high level designs and architectures

-Troubleshoot infrastructure functionality and performance issues

-Contribute to software process improvements to increase software maturity

-Actively work in Agile Scrum environment with daily stand-ups

As a managed security provider, Dell SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53. Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems. Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.

Requirements

-Strong in-depth knowledge of the Java and C++ programming languages

-10+ years of software development experience and a strong understanding of GNU/Linux

-Must have strong communication skills and be project oriented with ability to work with minimal day-to-day direction; Must be highly motivated and willing to work in a team environment

-Demonstrated development, design, documentation and review experience; ability to building high quality and high performance systems

-Understanding of current technologies including open source technologies

-Bachelors or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience

Preferences

-Knowledge of Amazon technologies such as Cloudtrail, Cloudwatch and S3

-Experience with Microsoft Azure

-Technical knowledge and understanding of distributed systems

-Information security knowledge

-Demonstrated development, design, documentation and review experience; ability to building high quality and high performance systems

-Proficient in build tools (Ant), development environments (Linux) and IDE's (Eclipse or IDEA)

-Ability to following Agile methodology

-Good working knowledge of data modeling, SQL and PL/SQL

-Experience with:

-Relational databases and a solid analytical and problem solving skills and willing to take on projects under deadline

-Working in cloud environments such as AWS
