Oracle DBA Job in Jersey City, NJ

Modis is looking to fill an Oracle DBA Job in Jersey City, NJ for a Fortune 100 Financial Company. Primary duty includes one or more of the following: Planning, Programming, Modeling. Performs in one of the following sub-roles: (1) Data Base Administrator: designs and configures complex databases with replication and multi-nodes, develops comprehensive DB implementation/upgrade plans, translates logical to physical design, creates DB objects, builds backup/recovery/load scripts, and can support development thru production. Proficiency in database and/or SQL analysis and tuning; (2) Data Administrator: creates, analyzes, translates, and maintains complex logical and/or physical data models, metadata respositories, and data catalogues. Maintains security event logs. Ensures all productions changes are made in accordance with lifecycle methodology and risk guidelines. This position should typically be used for an advanced or lead level resource.

Required Skills

5-7+ years of Database Administration experience in a large enterprise environment.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with building/managing Oracle Databases
Solid experience in Oracle 11g or newer, Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Data Guard Broker, GoldenGate, ASM, ACFS, database replication techniques, automation of Database builds, database upgrades, Database migrations, database monitoring, database performance tuning, database backup/recovery
Requires good communication skills to work closely with Project Managers, System administrators, Solution Architects, Application Development teams, and other teams as necessary to complete the database projects.
Participation in drawing up new standards (where appropriate) to ensure that best practices are applied.
Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel.
Good RHEL or AIX operating system experience is needed along with shell scripting
Candidates will possess strong proficiency in Python and/or PERL
Experience with OEM & GRID Control for monitoring and troubleshooting
Implement audit Security and access controls
The ability to work independently and on a team
Implement Global standards and follow Oracle best practices
Participation in the planning and implementation of disaster recovery exercises
